She graduated from the Russian State University for the Humanities (degree in Philology, specialisation in Theatre Studies).
She is a critic of ballet and contemporary dance, an editor at the "Petersburg Theatre Journal", and a scientific consultant to the "Great Soviet Encyclopedia" publishing house. She is a contributor to "Musical Life" magazine. She is the author of the book "On Pointe and Barefoot". She writes for "Teatr", "Shinshokan Dance Magazine", the online magazine "Moskvich Mag", and the newspaper "Le Courrier de Russie".
Previously, she was published in "Vremya Novostei", "Obshchaya Gazeta", "Novye Izvestiya", "openspace.ru", "colta.ru", "Moscow Observer", "Ballet International/Tanz aktuell", and "Moscow News". She was the editor of the 'Ballet and Dance' section at "Time Out Moscow".
